Community Meals

Updated: Feb 27, 2020

I've lived just outside of Mount Clemens for my entire life. I am a 4th generation member of Zion UCC. I've helped with our warming center in January but until recently had not participated in our Sunday Community Meals. Let me tell you...

Each Sunday afternoon, our fellowship hall is used to feed those in need in the Mount Clemens Community. Each Sunday a different group comes in to cook a meal - whether it is Mexican cuisine, pot roast, meatloaf or burgers. I was amazed that we get between 50-80 people there to eat each and every week. I was talking with some of the attendees and they stated that Mount Clemens is a great place to be because there are so many options for food and shelter.

What kind of outreach have you done for your community? Are you aware of what is going on in the cities around you? I am making sure to be more attentive to my surroundings and will continue to reach out to the community, one task at a time.
